For this national franchise formula, Christmas is therefore the perfect time to do something special for their guests. The result in 2024? A custom-made Plaza Christmas Cottage that not only rewards loyalty, but is also a tangible reminder of the Plaza experience.
The question
Following the success of the Piekandel in 2023, Plaza was again looking for a distinctive, eye-catching Christmas gift in 2024. This time the focus was not on a viral stunt, but on a gift that encourages loyalty and surprises regular customers in a special way. It had to be an item that really suited Plaza and that guests would take home to give a place among their Christmas decorations.
The idea
This is how the concept for the Plaza Christmas Cottage was born, an atmospheric miniature house that reflects the warm and inviting atmosphere of Plaza. The design features subtle snack icons, the Plaza logo and the formula's signature colours. The item is not just a gift, it is an extension of the Plaza experience which reminds guests of the place they love to come to, even when they are at home.
The challenge
Designing and producing a custom Christmas cottage presented a number of challenges. The design had to be recognisable in detail as a Plaza, without making the shape too complex or costly to produce. It also needed to have a quality appearance and look festive. With a short turnaround period, it was essential to manage the production process tightly.
The result
Compacon managed the entire process: from concept to production and distribution. The Plaza Christmas Cottages were distributed to all branches, where guests picked them up in no time. The item was not only enthusiastically received by regular customers, but was also used in prize draws and social media campaigns. Online engagement grew and a natural buzz developed around the Cottage. Customers even added the item to their Christmas village asking if there was also a smaller version that could be hung in their Christmas tree.
The successful campaign helped Plaza to fortify their brand recognition and add an extra experience to the festive season. With this campaign, Plaza is once again showing that cafeterias are more than just a place to get your favourite snack.
